Policy Statement
The following policies and/or procedures have been established to let both the camp and the participating groups understand their various responsibilities and requirements.
Christian Conduct:
As a Christian organization, Camp Joy maintains high standards of conduct and separation from the world and apostasy.
Attendees who use tobacco, drugs, or vape pens, will be sent home. All non-cooperative or non-compliant attendees are subject to immediate dismissal from the campground.
Dress Code:
Dress for this event is elevated casual to business casual (no pajamas, tank tops, or sweatpants in sessions). We respectfully request that all attendees wear knee-length or longer clothing with midriffs covered and wear loose fitting clothing (not leggings in place of pants) culturally appropriate to their biological sex. Dress code issues will be handled at the discretion of the event host, attendee’s responsible adult, and camp staff. Music is a key component of any ministry. Camp Joy desires our music to be of a conservative standard, and as such, will not use any rock, or Christian contemporary music in its services or on the campground. All music used on the campground will be approved by the program director.
*This portion is for the event hosts. We do ask that all participants be respectful of this policy with any music they choose to play on the campground.
Items Prohibited:
Do not bring tobacco, alcoholic beverages, drugs, vaping instruments, radios, CD or DVD players, cell phones, video games, fireworks, knives, or magazines of a worldly nature.
*For this event, adults may use their cell phones and allow minors to use phones at their discretion. Attendees will get more out of the event if they minimize distractions, like screens. Illegal, Inappropriate, or Harassing Behavior or Content is not permitted under any circumstances.
Care of Property: Campers are financially responsible for any damage to the property caused by misconduct or irresponsible behavior.
The Local Church: The ministry of the camp is not separate from but is an extension of thelocal church. The camp works to reinforce and supplement the ministry of the churches, their Christian schools, and their associated ministries and organizations.
Camp Management: The direction, goals, and standards for the camp are established by the board of directors of the camp and are implemented by the camp director and his staff. The camp director, under the direction of the board, is the final authority in matters that affect the camp and its policies and operation. He has complete authority to insist that camp standards that camp standards and rules are maintained.
